Anybody had any experince with this gizmo ?

Supposedly it's an HID plugin with ballast
for older H4 lighting systems.

It was spoken well of by a rider on one list I
subscribe to, who said he'd been running one
about a year.

I'm sort of mildly interested.

Thanks for any thoughts

Well, that's nothing new on ebay.  Avoids some of the percentage of
selling fees going to ebay by covering their cost with the shipping charges.

I think the way that one does the hi/lo switching is pretty neat.  Most
of the ones I've seen only replace the lo, and use a standard element
for the hi-beam.

I experimented with an HID retrofit, the report is here:

It didn't work very well for my purposes, but those were mostly
very tight twisties. If you're riding straight-line roads or
empty Interstates, HID is definitely brighter and might be useful.
