Remember those little hooded creatures in the early Star Wars films? The
things that went rooting in mountains of industrial junk?

Jawas. That's you, that is.

I have shelves full of perfectly good Harley parts. Removed when I built the
underpowered engine into a monster.

I have one for my Road King and it is probably the best shop manual I
have ever owned.

One of the benefits of not trying to build multiple lines of bikes to
cater to every segment of the motorcycle market, is it is easier to
keep in stock a healthy inventory of parts and accessories. On rare
occasions I will have to wait a couple of days for delivery of a part,
but with Yamaha, I have to wait a week for almost any part.  Certainly
any part beyond an oil filter or light bulb.

I thought I posted a link to HD parts fiche a while back.  I can't
find it now though.

I just look up the part in my Harley-Davidson 2006 FLHXI parts manual,
go to Chicago H-D online, and order the part.  It comes in the mail,
and I install it on my bike.   If I want someone else to install it, I
take it to Winchester H-D and buy it from them and have them install
it.

I *like* having the factory workshop manual and parts books for my
motorcycles.

I need to pick up a parts manual. It's not just being able to look up
a part number. The exploded diagrams are invaluable when I am trying
to put something back together.
