I installed a new Yamaha windsheild on my 2007 V-Star 650 Classic and
now when I wear my helmet it vibrates a lot. When I look at signs
they're slightly blurred. It's not too bad but it's enough to be
annoying. Does anyone know what is causing this and what I can do to
get it to stop? When I don't wear the helmet it doesn't happen so I'm
assuming it has something to do with the change of aerodynamics of the
cycle.
Thanks!

Can you change the angle of the windshield a little bit? That might
reduce the buffeting.

I'll check but I don't think so.

I would suggest that it's either the height or the angle of the
windshield, or a combination of both. I think you are getting
turbulent air coming off the edge of the windshield buffeting the top
of your helmet.
On my Street Glide with the classic Harley "batwing" fairing, I run a
10" windshield in winter. The air goes completely over my head, and I
can just barely see over the top of the windshield. In the fall and
spring, I run an 8" windshield that let's me see over the top edge
more easily. The air still goes completely over my head. In the heat
of summer, I run a 6" shield, and I get the turbulence you describe.
If I reach up, I can feel the still air in frnt of my neck and face,
but reach up to my forehead and above, I can feel the buffeting stream
of air. If I go on more than a couple of hour's ride in the summer,
the 6" screen comes off and the 8" screen goes back on.
