I rode the old CBX-6's (a friends) even at the drags but damed if I
can remember the range or mikeage, However a four would more easily
make 50MPG than a six (my 78 GS-1000 would do 50MPG) just due to six
carbs and higher friction, Not to mention they were a bit more high
strung than the fours in the late seventies, "Suzuki GS-1000, Kawasaki
1000 & Yamaha SX1100".My guess is 40MPG at normal SOCAL freeway
speeds. I have a collector acquaintance that has one but rarely ever
runs it He also has one of those Kwak sporty inline sixes and a
Benneli SI with twin 430 drive chains. The engine on the Benneli Six
looks like it was modeled from an old Honda CBR 550 with two extra
cylinders.
