Just out of curiousity, how much does a clutch pack replacement typically
cost at a dealership (US)?

Is it as expensive as a car?

Thanks.

Dunno, but I may be doing something similar on my Concours I'm afraid. I
shuffled bikes today, so heard it moving for the first time in a long time
without earplugs. Clutch whines pretty loud just as it starts to drag.
Didn't used to. All it had to do was last until I got around to selling
it, but noooooo.

I don't have any conceptual objection to doing it myself, but I'd rather
watch a mechanic do it and be amazed. I live in an apartment and I'm not
well-equipped to have the space to disassemble the bike.

I did see a web page that also recommended doing it yourself. It literally
looked like a 1-hour job if one had the parts and the tools pre-purchased.
But easier for me to write a check.

And ... nobody has answered my question. I'll have to call the dealership.

If all you need are the fiber plates, you'll probably spend around $90 for
parts.

I suppose there are about 8 fiber plates @ about $11.00 each.

Oh, no. A car clutch job would cost you about $750.

A motorcycle clutch job can be done in half an hour. Shop labor rates might
be
$65 and hour.
