Well, I'm here in Florida.

http://blog.dtashley.com/?pg6

(Just had to throw in the video.  I watched the skydivers go ... but I ain't
gonna skydive myself.)

I have a 2003 Honda Shadow Aero from a rental place.  I'm actually pretty
happy with it.  It rides better than my Honda Shadow 600, it accelerates
better, and I like the 5-speed transmission.  I also like the fact that it
is a bit wider.  And the saddlebags are neat for carrying stuff.

The allure of not having to lube a chain is there, as well.

Questions:

a)Has the Aero changed between 2003 and 2009?  Would I be getting the same
bike if I bought one now?

b)I'm assuming that the selection of available windscreens is good?

c)Any other bikes I should check out?  (The Suzuki C50T comes to mind.)

d)Any other advice?

Thanks, The Lizard

Kawi 900, V-Star 950, HD 883 for a few.

One of my regular riding friends rides a C50 and in my opinion it is a
pretty decent mid weight, cept the brakes are crap.

Could you be more specific about "brakes are crap"?

The single disc in front and drum in back isn't high-tech, but it should do
the job ... or not?

Thanks for any further explanation ...

You can replace the OEM brake pads with higher friction material, at
the expense of more disk wear.

Art Friedman said that he would either replace the wheels or seal them
in order to use tubeless tires.

While the mid-sized cruiser are more capable of longer distance
cruises, the basic cruiser riding position actually discourages rides
of more than about an hour, and Motorcycle Cruiser magazine has been
honest about that fact in other tests.
