Did they stop making them? Or just too many 2006 models around? Or they
don't update the model years always?
Thanks.

If you want a 600 Kan-O-Tuna, look on www.craigslist.com
I suppose the real reason for ending the 20- year long production run
of the carbureted Katanas with their oil/air cooling system was to
meet tighter 2008 air pollution standards.
The new water-cooled, fuel-injected 2008 GSX650FK8 can meet clean air
standards, but has a completely different cylinder block with the
camshaft drive chain on the end instead of in the the center of the
block as in the original GSXR750 "SACS" engine.
The cylinder block has the typical Suzuki electrochemically-deposited
surface and cannot be rebored if it is damaged.
The simpler screw adjusters of the older SACS engine will be missed. I
only had to check them once every 10K miles.
I would rather have the simpler constant vacuum carburetors with their
need for occasional cleaning than have a complicated fuel injection
system with its own brain.

From what I'm hearing SV650S is better in every aspect.
Which that in mind and full fairing on 2008 why would anyone want or
need a Katana?

Perhaps they want an I-4, but don't don't want a GSXR600 with better
suspension components?
Maybe they don't want the racetrack refugee GSXR750 or GSXR1000?

Why would anyone possibly want an I-4 over a V twin?
