How to bring peace to the Middle East
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Multidimensionalman/
In my humble opinion, two conditions are necessary.
In the first place, strong local governments are necessary to control
the unruly elements of the population and impose the law.
In the second place it is imperative that Israel should change her
image of an undesirable intruder.
Governments: Unfortunately European style governments cannot last for
long in the M.E.. An Egyptian style government with a semblance of
democracy but with martial law may be the best, providing all the
members of the government are respectable and respected members of
society with high moral values who know how to get themselves loved by
the population.
Israel: The Jews are highly evolved members of the world population.
But unfortunately they are giving an image of killings and bombings,
and high walls and occupation and prisons.
When we think of the short span of man's life on earth we realize how
comical and ridiculous these dreams of enlarging Israel are really.
And how much wiser it would be to have an image of a benevolent
friendly neighbor, who is accepted by its environment
Forty odd years ago some of my best friends were prosperous Jews
living a normal life in Egypt, in Iraq, in Syria, in Lebanon, in Iran...
Now they are so disliked in the M.E. that hardly anybody dares even to
talk to them.
Today that they have their state firmly entrenched and almost the
whole world is open to them for immigration and investment, they can
afford to do the necessary to change their image. And it is about time
that they do that, for the interest of their own citizens and of world
peace.

Here's what happens to steel framed buildings exposed
to raging infernos for hours on end.

On 9-11-01, WTC7, a 47 story steel framed building, which
had only small, random fires, dropped in perfect symmetry
at near free fall speed as in a perfectly executed controlled
demolition.

I have spent considerable time pondering whether
to get a Triumph Bonneville or a Harley Sportster,
and whether I should sell my 83 Honda Shadow.
Thank you for reminding me how petty my vehicular
concerns really are compared to the humongous issue
of peace in the Middle East.
In fact, we should properly shut down this whole newsgroup
as being trivially irrelevant.
For the Middle East is where (Western) civilization
began, and if we're not careful it may well end there.
Also, remember that T.E. Lawrence (of Arabia)
came to grief on a motorcycle:

No, no, no! We are the salvation! Give everyone in the Middle East a
motorcycle, and all that violence and animosity will disappear. A bike
in every house. Let them ride to school, work, shops, everywhere - and
watch peace bloom.
