A friend and I rode a little 200 mile loop in the North Georgia
mountains Saturday. Ideal weather, great company, not much traffic -
the perfect day. Along the way, I got a much needed dose of humility.
We were on one of my favorite section of twisties when we got behind a
couple of cruisers, 2 up, slowly meandering through the turns and
enjoying the scenery, oblivious to my need for speed. I was mildly
annoyed while I looked for a chance to get around them.
After successfully passing, I was once again in cornering heaven when 3
sportbikes came blasting around me like I was standing still. My first
reaction was how dangerous and irresponsible it was to pass on a blind
curve like they did. Then, it hit me - they were just as annoyed
behind me as I was behind the cruisers.
What a day! A perfect ride in perfect weather AND a great lesson in
humility.

The moral being, check your 6 and pull to the right
as needed.

Sounds like a great lesson in how some riders put EVERYONE at
risk, and make all riders look bad.

Uh, the OP correctly assumed that he was getting in some people's way at
what seemed like a comfortable speed to him, and learned a lesson from same.
(As Rob said: "check your six and pull to the right as needed.")
Good for the OP. He's dealing with reality like a mature adult; exactly as
he's supposed to.
You might think about trying that some time.

I might add those wanting to pass should wait for a safe opening to do
so. I don't need some squid putting me in jeopardy with an unsafe
pass.
