The new Indian Bomber has a military look including
a choice of WW2-style pinup girls on the gas tank,
making it look something like the _Memphis Belle_.

Disclaimer: I have no connection with Indian Motorcycles
and they have not paid me to post this article (although
it would be nice if they did).

ps. Anyone recognize the twin-engine plane they show?

I walked around the Memphis Belle about a month ago.  The only resemblance is
the color.

The Belle is on permanent display at the Udvar-Hazy aircraft museum attached to
the Dulles airport just outside Washington, DC.

That's the only spot on earth where you can stand in one place and see the
Memphis Belle, an SR-71, and a Space Shuttle all at one time.  Oh, and one of
the original Wright Bros. flyers.

And the citizens of Memphis who donated for the restoration of The Belle are
still pissed that it was stolen from us .

The girls were supposed to be the resemblance...
ie, "dames" (in 1940's lingo).
