I'm new to this group, did some searching but could not really find a
direct answer in what I needing to know. I need some help in deciding
which model of motorcycle you would pick from if you were searching for
a used Kawasaki Vulcan-1500 or the Vulcan-1600. I would like
information or your opinion to narrow my searching criteria for a used
bike. The first question is what's the real different between the
1500 and 1600 bikes?  I know the answer is 100cc but really why have
two models bikes so close together in cc-size? I know my next question
is a basic one, but how many years have these two different models been
in production and if any major changes made alone the way. Any other
information would be very helpful.
Thanks, Byron  T.

I can only help a bit but here goes.
The 1500's are basically considered bullet proof.  Since around 2000 with
the FI units, I think most of the big magazines have tended to rank it tops
in its class.
The 1600 has been out since 2003 I believe and various reviews I have read
state it is a fine ride but not as smooth as the 1500 etc.....
Go to www.vroc.org for complete info.
BTW.
I am focusing on the 1500 despite the fact that a buddy of mine who rides a
VTX 1800 was laughing at it yesterday in a showroom.

Byron, I am sure you will get more qualified advice regarding the
Vulcans but I can tell you a friend of mine rides a 1500 and it has
performed flawlessly for him. All of the Vulcans from the 800cc & up
are bikes that look good, have a pretty decent rep for reliability and
if you are looking for fast go for the 2 litre model.  It is quick.

So that didn't address your question but as usual I felt compelled to
add my 2 cents worth (Canadian)
