I have an 86 Yamaha FZ600 that I need new carbs for. I see alot of
FZR600 carbs on Ebay. Does anyone know if these carbs are
interchagable. As far as I can tell, they should install with no prob.
Thanks

Forget it. They are not interchangeable.
FZ600 carbs are designed to work in the traditional horizontal
position on an engine whose cylinders are vertical, or close to
vertical.
FZR600 carbs are designed to work in a semi-downdraft position on an
engine with cylinders that are laid down at an angle of 30 to 45
degrees.
The main jet and pilot jet are mounted in a special aluminum angle
block that allows them to suck fuel from the float bowl, because
nobody has figured out how to make the surface of the gasoline stay at
an angle...
Tilting the carbs gives the induction system a straighter shot into
the cylinders.

Thanks for your help. Glad I didn't win them on Ebay.

In simpler terms - the engines are completely different and they just
won't fit.
