So today is the first day of the season the weather's good enough to
take my bike out for a ride.
I'm looking all over the house, trying to find my helmet and I can't
find it anywhere.
My wife, knowing my intentions, told me last night she is *not* in
favour of me taking the bike out, given the current road conditions.
She also knows that, when it comes to things I consider are my own
business, I tend to do what I'm gonna do anyway...
I'm starting to suspect she hid my helmet before leaving for work this
morning!

I am certain that Her Supreme Greatness the Right Honorable Ms. G.,
Woman of Valour, Defender of the North, Dances with Caribou, etc. etc.
would not stoop to such low tactics, because it's well known that
the surest way to induce someone to do something is try and prohibit
them from doing it.
The more likely explanation (which applies to me also in many cases)
is that you absent-mindedly stashed it somewhere whilst thinking
about something else.

<sheepish grin>
Er, I think you hit pretty close to the truth there...

Mystery solved. After about an hour of digging through every bag and
box in the house, motorcycle shed and garage, I finally found it.
Had a little bit of a shock in the process. Rummaging through things,
I leaned my hand on a garbage bag filled with stuff and a little,
child-like voice came out, saying something weird like, "Ow Now!"
Shit! What the f*ck is that? Oh, it must be some sort of talking
toy...
Okay, I'm done. I'm outta here! Calgary, you're not going to be the
only one in Alberta riding today.

Good for you Don. From what I could see today there are few thousand
out there enjoying a little two wheel freedom today.
