Sweet  :-)

Mental image joke of the day - for those that remember that old Bill
Cosby routine about Noah from 40 years ago ( funny shit then and
now ) -

Taliban / AQ guy doing his 'ass up in the air in case Allah wants a
piece' thing, praying 'Allah, the merciful, protect us from the MQ-1
Predator that haunts our skies !!'  over and over in a chant .....

After a while, a voice from the heavens responds ( remember Bill Cosby
with the close-mike and hands-cupped-around-it God voice now ! )

".......Have you met my new MQ-9 ? ? ? ? ?"

    :-)

119HP is fairly respectable.  A Cessna 172 is 160HP, I believe.

The 119HP is only for 5 minutes. The engine produces 100HP normally

http://www.rotax.com/en/Engine/2004/Aircraft/Engine.Models.htm

Turbo-charged Rotax engines have been used in *many* low production
aircraft and kitplanes.

The non-turbocharged Rotax 912 produces 80HP and uses only 4.5GPH at
cruise setting.

"None of the hijackers were good pilots. None had ever flown jets,
let alone large commercial jetliners. Hani Hanjour, the person accused
of flying Flight 77 into the Pentagon, was failing his courses at the
Arizona flight school. According to an employee, "He didn't care about
the fact that he couldn't get through the course." 1   Rick Garza, a
flight instructor at Sorbi's Flying Club, had this to say about the two
alleged hijackers originally thought to have piloted Flight 77, Khalid
al-Mihdar and Nawaq al-Hamzi: "It was like Dumb and Dumber, I mean, they
were clueless. It was clear they were never going to make it as pilots."

In the second week of August 2001, Hanjour had attempted to rent a
small plane from an airport in Bowie, MD. Flight instructors Sheri
Baxter and Ben Conner declined his request, after taking Hanjour on
three test runs, noting he had trouble controlling and landing the
Cessna 172. Though Hanjour had attended a flight school in Scottsdale,
AZ, for four months in 1996 and 1997, he never completed the coursework
for a single-engine aircraft license."

"During numerous FAA and National Aeronautics and Space Administration
(NASA) sponsored runway approach and touchdown test flights during the
mid-to-late 1990s involving augmented GPS positional signals and the
autoland systems of Boeing 757, 767 and other Boeing 700 series
aircraft, horizontal and vertical positional accuracies of just several
meters or less were routinely achieved. The four aircraft used to carry
out the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks were also Boeing 757-200
and 767-200 model aircraft. Runways of major U.S. airports like JFK
International, Chicago- O'Hare International and Los Angeles
International are between 150 and 200 feet wide.[10][11][12] The World
Trade Center towers were each 208 feet wide.[13]

? During October of 1994 at NASA's Crows Landing Flight Facility in
California, 110 autopilot approaches and touchdowns of a United
Airlines Boeing 737 facilitated by augmented GPS positional signals,
were successfully conducted.[14]
? During July and August of 1995, Honeywell, Boeing and NASA
sponsored tests using NASA's Boeing 757-200 test aircraft
and performed 75 autopilot approaches and touchdowns. The
predicted augmented GPS system accuracy of 1-2 meters was
successfully achieved.[15][16]
? During December, 1998, augmented GPS signal flight tests sponsored
by the FAA in cooperation with Ohio University were conducted. 50
autopilot approaches and touchdowns were successfully performed by
a donated United Parcel Service Boeing 757-200 series aircraft. The
augmented GPS positional signal was integrated into the aircraft
Flight Management System (FMS).[17]
? During August of 1999, multiple augmented GPS signal autopilot
approach and touchdown tests were performed using a donated United
Parcel Service 767 aircraft. These tests were sponsored by the FAA
and were centered on the prototype GPS-based Local Area
Augmentation System (LAAS), which is intended to compliment the
FAA's WAAS signal. The LAAS signal can provide positional
accuracy of less than one meter vertically and laterally.[18]
