I had resolved to never have a bike with a chain again but how I have one!
So much for resolutions.
Since chain maint. is a royal PITA without a center stand, I am now looking
for a rear wheel jack stand. JC Whitney has one for $85 (ouch!).
Anybody know where to get one cheaper?
Any suggestions for attacking the problem some other way?

Interesting reading.
I have a nice flat spot on the front end of the swing arm.
Since I only need to raise the rear tire off the ground an inch or so, it
appears that putting a jack there will result in a (relatively) stable
triangle with the side stand and front wheel. If I do need to block the
front, I'm sure I can come up with something even simpler than the example.
Thanks a bunch!

Make one from a piece of 4X6 (or wider , depending on how high your bike
sits) and a piece of 3/4" pipe . Bore a hole big enough to insert a flange
thru the short dimension , screw the flange in place , insert the pipe thru
the hole into the flange .
Google "rikko lift" for more dimensions and instructions .
