Hi All,
Looks like i may be able to afford a new motorcycle in the spring. My
first new one ever! $9G's is my self imposed limit and I'm looking
for recommendations. I've had a v45 and a 1000 Virgo. I like
cruisers so thats what I'm looking for. Been looking at the Kawasaki
900 custom and a few other metrics. Not interested in paying for the
HD emblem. Yamaha seems to be a bit over priced for me too.
Any one have any experience with the 2008 mid sized cruiser line
~1000cc? I haven't rode anything nearing the year 2000 in years. If
you've been doing the dealer rounds post your opinions please.
Thanks
Chris

Thanks for the replys, I'll be checking out the dealers next week.
What are the chances of getting a bit off the sticker price? Is there
a % that the dealers are normally willing to give to sell a bike? I
would imagin that the end of season would be a great time to get a few
dollars off. Experence?

Your best bet on getting a good deal is finding a left over. It's
still a new bike and will come with a full warrentey. They've got no
reason to be giving super deals on a 2008 when they are just hitting
the showroom floor. Another possibility is getting them to throw in
optional goodies. They are getting the stuff wholesale so you end up
getting more than the dollars you might have been able to talk them
out of.

Thanks for the replys guys.
Cost is my limiting factor in this purchase. @ 5'10 and <200lbs i
think the 900 would be fine. If i had the funds to dish out then a
1500 would most likely be my choice. I've sat on a few and was amazed
by how light it was for its size (1500). I don't have the #'s but it
certainly felt lighter than the 1l Virago I rode (or am i now
heaver??). Styling is also a factor. I like the raised tank look.
Most large cc bikes seem to be retro to the 50's with that leveled
seat/tank look. I haven't made the purchase yet but after doing some
major nail biting i think I'll wait a few more months and see what
happens. By the look of the snow drift outside my window its going to
be awhile before i ride again anyway. My plan is to watch the
dealership like a hawk to see if the 2007's get any cheaper.
Thanks again guys.
