I wish you the best of luck when you are attempting to read the
Virginia motorcycle plate "FLXHI" rapidly disappearing into the
distance on a Harley old-school bagger that is lighter, better
handling, more powerful, with better brakes than your Wing, and - dare
I say it - is almost certainly piloted by a vastly more skilled rider
than you.

Old Wings rule, as Keith knows, but my Street Glide R.U.L.Z.

I knew that someone's "Ire" would get ruffled... just didn't know it
would be so soon after making the post.

If your Harley old-school bagger can go faster than 130MPH, you're
probably right.  My speedo goes to 150MPH, but I've never had it
red-lined.  I think it will do 150MPH, but I don't have the balls to
try it!

In 2005, about 3 months after I bought the Goldwing, I took a road
trip from Houston to El Paso to visit a daughter that lives there.
Another daughter was riding the passenger's seat and we had both side
compartments filled with soft sided luggage.  The bike weighs in at
799lbs... I'm 240lbs and my daughter was about 155-160lbs.  So, the
bike, riders and luggage was tipping the scale over 1200 lbs.

I was just west of Sonora with the cruise control at 80MPH in the
right lane.  A Victory blew past me in the left lane and I wanted to
catch him to ride with him.  He saw me coming and I heard him open it
up to out pace me.  I caught him, passed him and pulled away from him
(he was the only rider on the Victory) until I finally got out of it
and re-set the cruise back on 80MPH.  He was able to pass me again.

When I looked down, my speedo was indicating 120MPH and the bike was
still accelerating until I got out of it.

So, if your bike will go faster than 130MPH, you're right... I'll be
reading "FLXHI"; otherwise, Beep Beep!

So you are thinking a Victory can't go 120 mph?

So this display of riding skill and motorcycle performance pretty much
amounted to you turning your right wrist as far as the throttle would
allow.

Well damn, I'm impressed. lol

No "ire," I just don't like to see ignorance continue when I can so
easily educate.

Here, or on the road....
