What amazed me most about this video was:
1. They survived. It wasn't a crash or "run from the police" video.
2. The number of full size or semi-full-size cars and the lack of two
wheeled traffic.

Agreed and that there seemed to be 50% or less Japanese brand cars
with the rest being EU or US. Don't they know that Japanese brand cars
are the best :)-

Doesn't look a whole different than my commute. Although I tend to wait till
big trucks are staggered before I move through.
The SF bay area AM moto-commuters might agree that is just the way it is
sometimes, no sense getting to work late.

Eh. The early part isn't lanesplitting; it's just plain riding on the
shoulder. Illegal almost everywhere. The following portion is a good example
of why most riders who've never done it think that splitting is suicidal.
People who split every day to and from work every day in California
arely -if ever- do it at anything approaching the relative speeds between
the bike and the rest of the traffic in the video. The CHP recommend that
you split at speeds no greater than 10-15 mph more than that of the
surrounding traffic, and suggest that it's probably not a good idea at all
at speeds in excess of 30-35.
Done cautiously, lanesplitting is no more dangerous than riding in heavy
traffic ever is. Done the way it's being done in that video, it's just a
prelude to a full body cast.
