Why? Most intersections I know, the cars are lined up a bit behind the
start of the intersection and there's plenty of place for a motorbike to
be in front.

There usually is. Where there isn't, in the UK, bikes come alongside the
cars rather than go in front, because obviously that's putting you out
in the traffic flow.

You see, all it needs is a *little* thought and a *little* skill. You'd
be advised to start acquiring both.
