Hi,
would anyone here maybe know if there's a single, monolithic verb for
that little tightening of the throttle cable before opening the
throttle on the exit of a turn? To get a smooth and more predictable
power delivery by eliminating that little cable slack? (Part of my
problem is that my native language's expression for that only very
faintly echoes the origin, so you can still use it for ride-by-wire
bikes that don't even *have* throttle cables...)

In Canadian construction worker terms, it would be a <female pubic> hair.

I'm not aware of a single verb.
Since my German is OK, I assume you mean without a separable prefix.
Generally, let me make the following observation ...
People tend to adapt to things they control without even being aware they
are doing it. For example, I used to own a car where the steering had a
large "deadband", so that to get any steering action you had to move the
wheel a few inches. So, if you would watch the steering wheel while driving
down a straight road, it would turn a lot (whereas in a car with tighter
steering, it would not).
Really, I was not aware that I was making large steering wheel movements to
get small corrections ... I just adapted to the system over a period of
months.
Most bicycle riders are not aware that they countersteer. If you would ask
most bicycle riders how they turn left, they would say they move the
handlebars left. They are shocked when you explain to them (and they can
verify) that the initial movement is to the right.
So, I would make these conjectures:
a)Most people who milk the slack out of a throttle cable as they get near
the end of a turn are not aware they are doing it.
b)If a motorcyclist encountered a motorcycle without any throttle slack
(such as a throttle by wire system), he would adapt in the period of a few
days to a few weeks, without realizing that he was learning new control
laws.

Crack, as in opening the throttle a crack just beyond the cable slack?
Get the direction change sorted, crack a little gas on, then roll on through
the remainder of the turn, with the throttle roll rate increasing as the
bike comes more upright.
Any good to you, or have I misunderstood the question?
