I rode a Titan-lover's machine once. For a short distance.

It shook like a jack hammer. He said that loosening the engine bolts
would help..

The Titan-freak rode his first Titan from Burbank, CA to Louisiana. He
said that he crashed on his motorcycle friends' couch after showing up
unexpectedly and talking to them for about two hours.

Then he rode back to Burbank in the same mad rush. He had to be at
work Monday morning...

Keith reminds me of that guy.

Funny, I've never gotten the numb hands or feet on a Titan. Weird,
could have be the off-road grips I was using. It had a buzz in the
foot pegs but nothing I thought unbearable.

Why? Do you think it would bother me? Not getting on you case just
trying to see your viewpoint. I don't even bother with windshields or
fairings these days either as it is just more to clean and they act as
a sail on windy days. But I must warn you the older I get the more my
idea of windy changes. I don't consider a 30-40mph wind from any angle
all that bad. Yes gusting over those is annoying but that's
all...annoying.

Different strokes , I guess . I can't handle the vibes from my wife's EX
250 for more than a hundred miles or so . But then I AM a geezer now ... and
I dearly love the comforts of my huge ass touring bike with the fairing ,
windshield , and lowers . Mounted a "new" set of mufflers last night (modded
some stock ones for flow AND quiet) and now I can hear my stereo ... next
step is to diagnose why the cruise control isn't workin' .

Dumb question that started bugging me a while back...what age does one
have to be to attain geezerhood? 70? 80? Even OLDER? I achieved dirty
old man this year...according to swmbo'd.

Cruise control? I dunno why, throttle discipline is how I stay awake
after twelve hours on the road. ;^)

Well , it's not so much a chronological thing as it is a state of mind ...
having been thru three pretty bad wrecks (none my fault , resulted in
totalling two bikes ...and nearly totalling me) in the last four years has
taken it's toll . I feel better with more bike under me , plus those
creature comforts are almost a necessity now . I absolutely cannot ride long
distances without a backrest .

Havin' tunes helps ! Kinda hard to fall asleep when yer rockin' to Led Zep
or The Doors . Plus , the fatigue factor on a big tourer is much less -
those creature comforts help with that too .
