Tunes do help and there's something just so right about riding a hog
on the highway while Zep or AC/DC is blasting. I enjoyed that on my
Road Glide until 3 years ago, when the stereo system crapped out.
Hasn't been quite important enough for me to bother to fix it
though...

Frankly I'm still a surprised to read they even *had* cruise control
on those '90 FLs...

Yanno , I didn't even listen to it at first , but it has grown on me .
Last night I put some quiet muffs on (modified stockers , and butt-ugly but
they flow great !) and that radio sounds much better now that I don't have
to drive the speakers to distortion . It sounds so much better that I'm
considering taking the plunge and going with a satrad . Fading stations and
trying to find tunes are bad juju on the road .

And it's a true cruise control , with feedback from the speedo , a bigass
'lectric servo actuator , and a 'lectronic control box . I'm pretty sure it
was only on the Ultra's though .

Okay, just a sec...
<taking off shoes>

Fifty six! That IS OLD! (I'm just 53)

I really should fix my radio... I'm kinda lazy that way, when it
comes to optional things.

In fact, I should be in the garage working on my Street Bob right
now. I was misbehaving on the weekend. I think I toasted the clutch
doing burn-outs.

When I told my wife how much a new clutch pack will set us back, she
was pretty mad. Got much more quiet the next day when she came home
on her Sportster with a $110 speeding ticket though...

Cool. When I first got my Road Glide (a '98) I was initially under
the impression that it had cruise, since it had all the controls for
it. Then I discovered why it didn't work. I didn't have one!

Okay, enough of this. Time to go to the store, get some beer and then
to the garage see how bad that clutch is.

LOL.....that evened the score nicely. Good to see you are both still
having fun!

As it turned out, it's worked out even better. Last night, after
posting that, I adjusted the clutch and... voila! It works just fine
now. I probably burned some of friction plate material away, but not
all apparently.

Doesn't seem to have warped the plates either. I was a little
concerned after limping the bike home on Sunday night and removing the
clutch cover for a look-see. Man, that primary was hot. And stinky
too. Think I'd better at least change the primary fluid.

But now I can rag on the missus for speeding, without fear of
consequences and that's what's most important! ;)
