Coroner says abducted LA teen died from neck slash
LOS ANGELES (AP) -- The Los Angeles County coroner's office says a 17-
year-old girl who was kidnapped and killed in her own car had a
slashed neck.
Assistant Chief Ed Winter says that wound killed Lily Burk on July 24.
Police say Burk was running an errand for her mother at Southwestern
Law School in Los Angeles when she was abducted and driven to an ATM
but was unable to withdraw money. Investigators say she made two calls
to her parents asking how to obtain the cash.
Police contend she finally was killed and left in the car by a man who
was later arrested for possessing a crack cocaine pipe and drinking
beer in public. Investigators say fingerprints in the car linked 50-
year-old parolee Samuel Fisher to the crime. He's been charged with
murder.
