Now I have a Kawasaki ZX 10, to me the mean and baddest bike on the
planet.

Do the words "Moto GP" ring a bell with you?
And do you understand why Moto GP bikes make yours look like an
arthritic Harley bagger?

That's a bit of exaggeration.
The ZX10 really is a "mean and bad" type of bike from what I've read.
I'll bet the difference in track times from a ZX10 to a motoGP bike is
smaller than between a ZX10 and most cruisers.

Going out on a limb, eh? ;-)
That being said, every track involved comparison I've seen, and really, I
read them all, has the Honda out gunning the ZX. Most like the suspension on
the ZX for it's "feel", but they can't seem to explain why different riders
(levels of experience) seem to be able to get around on the Honda faster
than on the ZX.
The mind boggles. ;-)

Kawasaki has always emphasized horsepower over handling, that goes
back to the days of the foul-handling H-1 triple.
ZX-10R mounted AMA superbike and WSB racers seem to have a lot of
power and blinding speed but can't put it to the ground.
Perhaps Suzuki and Honda's traction control systems work better than
Kawasaki's system and they can get power to the ground a little
earlier exiting the corners?
