It's that time for me to re-up on my bike insurance. i won't ask what
you think of this or that company, but finding alternatives to
Progressive isn't quite as easy as I thought it'd be. I'm looking only
to check rates before I give over my cash in the next week.
McGraw doesn't do ins in VA. I can't find anything on AAA m/c ins in
Virginia. I've ruled State Farm out due to cost; sad since I insure
everything with them - house, life, autos
I'm awaiting quotes from:
* Foremost via AARP
* TheRiderMagazine (not sure who they use)
* Fernet (http://www.fernet.com/)
I'll check out Geico, Allstate, etc if I don't liek the quotes from
above.
Any other companies I should look at?
Thanks,
Greg

Ken,
Thanks for the info on Sentry.
I called them for $100k/300k, $100 deductible, full coverage - $860/
yr, which is almost 3x what Progressive charges me.
Looks like it depends on how they rate the bike.
Mine is a VTX1800 and GMAC quoted $1200/yr, Sentry $860/yr, Fernet.com
$349, Progressive $297..
Then again, Progressive wanted to charge me $1000/yr to insure a 90's
1000CC Honda superbike.
These insurance rates are all over the map and it's worth looking
around. so thanks again for the pointer.
My check to Progressive is in the mail now.

I got/had Bikeline. Was around $290 a year in LA area .
New BMW GT with a $5K ingrate knockover claim hiked it to $1000 year.
Dunno about next company I need to move on to.
