And you will masterdebate to the thought, from now on...

Gunk Engine Brightener is just petroleum distillate (similar to
kerosene) with a surfactant added so that you can easily hose it off.
Problem is, it penetrates into crevices around bolts and axles and
leaves the surfactant after it evaporates.
Then the acid eats through the cadmium plating and the bolt or axle
turns splotchy black.

You say. Never, ever, ever seen it happen and I've used the stuff for
nearly 30 years.
Perhaps you just don't wash it off properly. After all, your own bike
maintenance (cf brake fluid) is, by yor own admission, pretty crummy.

How can you wash the Gunk off, after it has penetrated into bolt holes
and axle holes? You'd have to disassemble the motorcycle to get that
stuff off the cadmium plated parts.

I repeat: it's a problem only you seem to perceive. Nobody else has it.
I've washed bikes with Gunk for years, and never had any problems. And
No, the rear axles don't get corroded by it.
But, since you're the genius who told us all that the kill switch was
there to allow you to stop the engine when the forks suddenly rebound
after a hard stop, and you fall off, we can't expect too much.
