The cops tried this once in Northampton, MA.. It lasted all of one
weekend when every motorcyclist that could be reached had a little
get-together on Main St, taking up damn near every single spot for the
entire day.

In Britain, in metered bays, bikes are allowed to share the space with
cars for free. However, if the meter runs out, then the bike will get
ticketed along with the car. It strikes me as a fair compromise.

It's the greatest little lesbian town.. but pretty lame idea for
motorcycles.

Gotta love the Iron Horse cafe/music venue. I've seen a lot of great
performances there. Going out of town on Rt 9 and taking a right onto
Rt 112 is pure heaven all the way to Rt 100.

Ah yes, Northhampton. One of the reasons I miss MA, Smith, UMass,
Amherst, Mount Holyoke and Hampshire, the Five Colleges.

I have fond memories of going to see a band called Roomfull of Blues at some
funky little bar back in the 70s.

And the drinking age was 18, we'd go to the Blue Wall Cafeteria on UMass
campus, they turned the lunch line into a bar, trays full of cocktails.

Maybe I DO need to go back and visit my sister. Now that I think about it
Western Mass wasn't that bad.

It was a good place to be young and in college.
