when i changed the oil on my bike about a month ago i was in a rush
and didn't think to level my bike before checking final oil
level....and to my surprise i was way under so i poured 3 qt.'s of oil
instead of the reomended 2.8
i rode it for a day or two, just cruising speeds. i then took it home
and checked it once again once the bike was level.....i was way over.
i then took oil out. it started to make a clacking noise, it
progressively got worse over the week i rode it. so i stored it for a
couple days, then decided i wanted to go for a small joy ride, it
started like it always did i let it run for a bit to warm it up. i
proceed down my street, i missed going fast so i gave the throttle a
little jerk, it bogged down more and more until it finally died abt.
100ft from my house. i started it again, it turned over but i wasn't
able to put it gear because it would die, so i eased on the clutch
giving it no gas what so ever, i moved a little bit then it died
again. Oh and the only time i was really able to hear the clacking
clattering noise was when the bike was warmed up???? angry and
confused i took all the fairings of and tried to start it it would
turn over, i could feel the pressure coming out of my pipe but it
wouldn't start???
What in could it be? I'm thinking i need to get my valves adjusted,
and clean the carb and go from there or what?

Well, you might have blown a lot of excess oil into your airbox and
plugged the air filter.

Remove the #40 plug and see if a lot of oil drains out of the hose.
The #37 oil drain cup is intended to hold about 2 ounces of condensed
oil fumes that have been blown out of the crankcase.

Best case, as stated, is that you've smothered the air filter in
excess oil. That's the most likely event, as well. Clean out the
airbox, replace the air filter element, drain oil until the level is
right, and...
...no, get someone else to do it, because you know nothing. And no,
adjusting the valves and cleaning the carbs (note plural) won't help
at all. If you don't know what you're doing, don't do it.
