Save ??? What 'save' ????? He grabbed a LOCKUP handful of
front, and rode a straight line, and did NOT ONE DAMNED THING to
evade. The DEER saved his ass, not his 'save'.
Watch his line - he did NOT ONE DAMNED THING other than
sphincter-checking the front brake. Lucky for him, the deer was a
kind considerate deer, and got out of his way.
The correct move would have been : Maximum braking just SHORT
of lock-up, head and eyes on the right-side edge, push right, and go
there.
Prior to that, as you point out - while coming up to the end
of that berm be 'expecting the unexpected', slowing, focusing on
hazards from that unseen vector.

He didn't LOCKUP the front tire. He let off on the brake as soon
as the tire squealed at the limit of traction. Just about everything
you write reveals a lot ignorance.
Do you still "think" the Bush regime's illegal, immoral,
globally condemned, and unprovoked terror attack on the
innocent People of Iraq was a good idea?

On 9-11-01, WTC7, a 47 story steel framed building, which
had only small, random fires, dropped in perfect symmetry
at near free fall speed as in a perfectly executed controlled
demolition.

Well, David, you're getting much better. Far from your prior
experiences with rocks, albeit very large rocks, you did well with a
moving target. In spite of all the criticism you have gotten, and will
continue to get, on Reeky, you managed job number 1 - avoid the
collision. Sure, it was close, but there was no contact. You managed
to get on the brakes, appropriately, modulating them to the slipping
point a few times. You did not fixate on the deer. Most importantly, you
did not hit the deer.
Surely, there are some things you could tune up, but, it being Monday
night, and all, I'm not going to play quarterback. I will say that
Pennsylvania is likely to cough up a deer most any old time.
That said, punch through one some time. That's a thrill.

Bullshit. The target removed itself from his straight-line
path, that is ALL that happened.

He should send the deer a thank-you note.

He LOCKED UP, did a straight line skid, did NOTHING to avoid
the hazard like STEERING THE MOTORCYCLE AROUND IT, he DID fixate on
the deer ( I 100 % GURANTEE his eyes were on the deer, not on where he
wanted the bike to go ), and the deer ran out of his way.

He will.
