It's harder than it looks. I've had the back wheel lofted and the front
wheel locked. I rode it out through some blind luck and a lot of
repetative practise of looking where you want to go and not panicing.
Strange - I was headed for a place called "Ford"...

Just a stat to throw in the mix...it's about 2 seconds from the time
the deer comes into view til it's on the other side of the bike.
That ain't a hell of a lot of time to react and execute more than one
action. The deer just as easily could have changed direction when he
was directly in front of you. You were lucky and did as well as can be
expected. Congratulations. Now, go change your underpants.
