I had a removable oversize rear sprocket for mine, producing
an extreme low gear for off-road use and I used to explore
the trails and forest roads west of Calgary.

My first and third motorcycles were Zundapps

One of my all time favorite machines. Blindingly simple
and easy to work on and incredibly resistant to the
kind of damage a teenage wannabe mechanic could do.
Second one I found disassembled in a box. Put it back
together and it started on the third kick.

OMG that was my first bike, too! Man, did I beat the piss out of that
poor thing. I was not licensed, so it was 90% off-road riding.

I went up some pretty big hills with stock gearing - I just jammed it
in first, get a run at it, then WOT all the way up! 8)
