Google groups, contrary to the name, are not a group as this one is, a
usenet group publically shared. They are an e-mail list service that
stuff the messages into your mailbox. No better than some site based
forum where, as the subject title implies, your messages are subject
to deletion by the whim of the owners.

Hmmm, good luck.
Usenet has an attraction. I believe posters on Usenet, regardless of
position, believe in a free (as in beer) expression.
Moderated forums (i.e. the popular PHP based forums have a place) but they
are run at the pleasure of the owner. Us old timers believe in the open
forum that is /was usenet.
Right wing / Left wing, I hope we can all agree to fuck those that wish to
filter content / opinion.
As a general rule, don't top post or insult an man's wife, mother, dog or
children.
