Got little charging going on. My alternator field coil, black to white,
tests 1.3 ohms. Seems low to me. Seems low to Clymer manual too but
I've found errors in that manual and I'm wanting to varify the
resistance with guys who actually work on those alternators. My
question is, "What resistance should the field winding show?" i'm
thinking 3 to 4 ohms is more like normal. Am I right? Is my field coil
shorted?
Item 2: Anybody ever tried to rewind one. Getting it apart looks easy.
Thanks,
Jim
