My bike passed state inspection, but needs a new rear tire soon. I'm
thinking about the new Avon Venom 200mm to replace the Dunlop 180.

The Avon 200 is a fairly new tire and is made to fit my bike (VTX).
Anybody using this tire or the 180 or some other Avon? Are you happy
with Avon?

Thanks,
Greg

Changing to a 200 will change the handling characteristics of the bike.
Are you aware of that?  Just wondering.  You might have to do some
suspension work to get the turn in the way you like it.

Yes, I am aware of that, but the reviews of this tire indicate riders
like the ride ebtter with better traction from dead stops and the
like. I've ridden bikes with 240's... not good for cornering, turning,
but this is only a 200 up from a 180.

I have Avon Road Runners/ Venoms on all my British Bikes. They are a great
tire but the compound is soft and they will wear out quickly.  I don't have
any experience with the Avon you are speaking of. I wouldn't suggest running
2 different types of tires on your bike, however.
