Subject: The new, simplier CPR method : Excellent , simple video
From University of Arizona
This is a new CPR technique which is much simpler.
This is a very important video regarding the latest CPR procedure. Please
watch and forward to your friends and family if you haven't already done so.
You never know, a life may be saved utilizing this new procedure.

That's a good video but continuous CPR is not new. I re-certified my
CPR ticket a year and a half ago and this was the technique they
taught.

The only thing new to me in the video was using CPR if the person is
still breathing, even if it is just gasping. We were taught only to
use CPR if the person has stopped breathing. As noted in the video it
is not unusual to break a few ribs when CPR is done with the vigour
required to create blood pressure.
Where possible, if faced with life threatening arrhythmias, we are
encouraged to use an automated external defibrillator. Simple, easy to
use and very effective, when they are available.
