Try to get anything chromed in CA of late?

They are under such strict chemical control it's cost prohibitive and bumper
and plating shops are drying up quick.  I tried a couple of years ago and
ended up just buffing the damn stuff shiny myself.

Now we get to use water-based automotive paint too since they took out
solvents.  No more manufacturer's touch-up paint with solvents either.

No more lead wheel weights either after this year - only zinc.   Bullets are
probably next.

Ya know, I didn't vote for any of these people passing all this nonsense,
but somehow they got in.  Don't know where it will end.

B~

Personal cost doesn't enter the equation in California. You are supposed to
buy a new, fuel efficient car every few years. Our smog laws and
registration penalty system are designed to do that. Too bad if you have an
old car 3 kids, and are unemployed, just buy a new car and get with it.
Governor Arnold spent $150K+ (of his own money) having a Hummer converted to
a super efficient bio-diesel by some guy in Idaho or Iowa, makes sense to me

According to our Secretary of State, the U.S. needs to follow the lead of
Mexico when it comes to environmental concerns.
