Got some same-sized cotter pins at a hardware store today and helped her
lube and adjust the chain. The Suzuki dealership provided the axle nut
torque spec. of 60-65 ft-lbs.
Ordered the owner's manual for the bike for her (she never got it when she
bought it used).
Took her down (we rode separate motorcycles) to the airport to meet the
skydivers, as she had some interest in skydiving.
Just received a text message to the effect that she signed up to go on a
tandem jump this weekend.
Wow.

You sir are a bad influence. I'll have to rethink my opinion of
you...maybe you will fit in just fine. Keep up being a bad influence.

This newsgroup would probably get along better with her than me. Remember,
SHE is going skydiving, I'M staying on the ground.
On the way to the airport, as we went around the Marshall circle (i.e.
roundabout), I couldn't help but notice that she had quite a lean angle. I
followed her, and I was just hoping my tires would hold. Since we were
going counterclockwise, I was also scared that she hadn't listened to me
when I told her to be careful not to get any chain lube on the tire. (I was
up at the hardware store getting cotter pins when she was lubing the chain.)
But I think the tire is clean, based on that lean angle. If it wasn't clean
before, it is now.
She comes closer to the model of just enjoying life. You'd like her better.

Does "tandem jump" mean that she signed you up for the jump as well,
and you'll both be tethered? Happy landings!

No such luck, dude. I don't jump out of airplanes. She has more guts than
me (not hard to do).
I'll be on the ground.
