Exactly. What amazes me is that not all that long ago, the Royal Navy
would have stopped the Iranian boat cold. No ands, ifs, or buts.
Western society is writing its own death warrant and doesn't even care.

Actually, the Iranians have shown that they are far more decent
and humane than the war criminals from the U.S. and Britain who
bomb innocent women and children and brutally torture innocent
POWs. The British POWs who were caught in Iranian waters are
being treated very well. The U.S. and British governments
should take a lesson from their moral betters in Iran.

There were several Iranian boats, and if the Brits could have
stopped them they would have.

Here's what happens to steel framed buildings exposed
to raging infernos for hours on end.

On 9-11-01, WTC7, a 47 story steel framed building, which
had only small, random fires, dropped in perfect symmetry
at near free fall speed as in a perfectly executed controlled
demolition.

The war, beside being completely morally indefensible, was just plain
unnecessary. It had nothing to do with terrorism or making American
safer. It certainly had nothing to do with establishing an exemplary
'western-style' democracy in Iraq. The admin. keeps it going for fear
of admitting failure, but 'victory' is entirely undefined. IOW, we
can not win, we can only lose worse.
As for government, the Democrats have become the party of fiscal
responsibility. Clinton never balanced the budget but he showed a way
we could get there. Yes, Democrats invented pork and unnecessary
spending, but the Republicans have them beat by a mile. Tax cuts
while the govt. is piling up debt are not really tax cuts. You will
pay that money back with interest. The Iraq War alone will cost every
individual American around $10,000. For a family of four that is a
down payment on a nice house!
Government is necessary for certain things. It's up to us how well
they do those things. Corporate interests don't necessarily do a
better job just by definition. And especially in oligopolies like we
have now, they have no incentive to cut costs or eliminate waste and
fraud.

Their plan was to destroy and destabilize Iraq, set up a
puppet regime, and rake in many billions of dollars through war
profiteering and the theft if Iraq's oil. It's been a smashing
success for the war criminals, liars, thieves, and terrorists
on the Bush regime and the cronies in their criminal cabal, but
it's been a tragic failure for U.S. soldiers, the U.S. Military,
the U.S. taxpayers, the U.S. economy, the global respect and
credibility of the U.S., and of course, primarily, the innocent
People of Iraq.
