Riding in light traffic today, when the guy in front of me hit his
brakes at a traffic light something went "clank, rattle". Not being
particularly interested in dodging a shock absorber or muffler or
transmission or whatever was about to fall off, I took a right at the
light.
Anybody else?

I was once on the freeway behind a flatbed truck when it lost a Port-A-
John off the back, about 30 yards ahead of me.
If it made a sound, I wasn't aware of it; as I was already two lanes
over to the left and accelerating hard when the shit hit the slow
lane.

That really is a disgusting story.
When I think about vehicles losing loads, I think about this and that
falling off and how it probably slides with less friction than rubber
so you can probably outmaneuver it or outbrake it if you need to.
I'm sure that a fiberglass Port-A-John is an avoidable object in just
about any scenario.
But when you add the lost liquid/solid contents that are sure to
spread laterally ... it is just plain gross.
If your choices are to ride through a pool of human waste mixed with
disinfectant or brake to avoid it and risk getting struck from the
rear ... that is a very poor set of choices.
Gross gross gross.

You could avoid that scenario entirely by quitting motorcycle riding.

Wise suggestion. Barely a day goes by without my seeing a PortaKhazi
somersaulting down the road in a kind of brown liquid Catherine-wheel
spray.
