Here's one from my local newspaper tonight.... 21 year old, 1st day
out...
Man, 21, killed in motorcycle accident
By Jonathan Graham and James Downing
WESTMINSTER -- A Princeton man died after he crashed his new
motorcycle on Mile Hill Road at 5:34 p.m. on Thursday.
Rescue workers treated Jonathan Metcalf, 21, at the crash site and
transported him to HealthAlliance Hospital/Leominster, according to a
press release from the Westminster Police Department.
Metcalf died later in the evening at UMass Memorial Medical Center
in Worcester, the release said.
A family member who answered the phone Thursday night at the
Metcalf home declined to comment.
Robbins said speed and driver inexperience both played roles in
the fatal crash.
Metcalf registered his 1997 Honda CBR600 bike the same day as the
accident, Sgt. Edward Robbins said.
He struck the dirt incline on the right side of the road while
traveling south on Mile Hill Road, Robbins said.
Metcalf was riding with two friends, each on separate motorcycles,
according to Officer Ralph LeBlanc. Neither of the friends were involved
in the accident, he said.
Police could not provide information regarding the friends'
identities at press time.
Blood ran down the road Thursday evening after the crash. A large
patch of blood mixed with dirt could be seen near a rock, which Robbins
said the bike struck before skidding across the road.
The damaged motorcycle came to a rest against the guardrail on the
left side of the road.

Re the thread where the OP doesn't have time to take his seat off to check
the battery, I guess this guy didn't have time to take riding lessons.
Looks like he traded six days of training for sixty years of life. It's a
pity.

I know... that is such a shame.. I'm guessing he was on a learners
permit.
Every year we see this in the Spring right around graduation time.
His poor parents.
