They weren't exactly traveling. They mentioned La Mirada - a suburb of
Los Angeles. It's probably more like, "Hey, we can find an industrial
neighborhood over by Norwalk or La Mirada where we can do some extreme
stuff on Sunday and no one will be around."

I think he was trying to keep the guy from panicking. Better than going, "holy
shit dude, your foot is just dangling there!" I think the guy had a pretty good
friend to stand there holding his leg stump.
