So for the new year I made the following mods.
1) Hyperpro fork springs
2) Hyperpro shock
3) Latest PCIII map (made in 2009 for GenII i.e. 2006 and above
models)
4) Enabled the PCIII accelerator pump option. This gives the bike an
extra squirt of fuel when cranking the throttle for tens of engine
cycles.
Also had the valves checked (all in spec) and new Pilot Powers
mounted. The bike with ~28k miles now functions better that at any
time of its life. Me ready for summer!

Tell me more about that PC III map, any chance of sharing it?
I've already tried a couple of different ones and have been
thinking about getting a custom map made on a dyno.
I didn't know there was an accelerator pump option- I'll have
to see about enabling that on mine. I don't actually have my
PC III installed at the moment, I had it in there but removed
it after seeing the mileage drop precipitously.

It's called Wally's smoothness map and I got it from here, see the
bottom of the page:
http://www.fjr1300.info/misc/PC-III.html
You need to go to the PCIII site and down load the accelerator pump
configuration program as it is a separate entity from the map
download software.
It is important to use the "set throttle position" function under the
"Power Commander Tools" prior to enabling the accelerator pump or
mapping software. IIRC, you will also need to use the 9 V battery
adapter as the accelerator pump software does not seem to communicate
with the PCIII even with the bike "ON."

Thanks. I've already tried Wally's smoothness map, and I'll remember the
tip about the 9V battery vs. using the bike's battery when using the
accelerator pump software.

Did you try the new one for the GenII model or is yours pre-2006?
