I have some questions about conditions, riding to Telluride Colorado at the
end of August.

Actually, has anyone done this from California? Are there any good, cool
(weather, that is) routes?

I need to decide whether I'm flying or riding today.

Easy decision. Ride. I just got back from a trip where it rained so
hard the rain was a steady pressure like I was swimming. The steam and
the mud. Riding through the mountains on winding slippery roads with
water running in rivers over the road. The headlight quit lighting and
the speedo cable quit turning. Yeah, it was a blast. Wish I could do
it all over again today.

I'd ride. How much time do you have? The best direct way is what we
just did - Utah 12. LA-Vegas-St George- U12 - Hanksville - Blanding -
Monticello - Telluride.

If you have _lots_ of time, go up the west side of the Sierras
(paralleling 49,) catch 395 near the Oregon border - Burns - Ontario -
Sawtooth - Yellowstone - and south through the Grand Tetons.

A great trip.
