I have an XL125 with reg papers but no motor. There's a 185cc
Honda ATV trike with a running motor in Craig's for a reasonable
price so I thought I'd put its motor into my XL (assuming it fit).
However the ATV motor has no manual clutch. There is a gear
shift, but the clutch is some kind of automatic. Question is,
would this be ok in a street bike? I've never used a setup like
this and it seems to me the manual clutch is good for fast
downshifting in traffic, etc. OTOH those large scooters
like the Burgman also have some kind of automatic
clutch/transmission setup.
ps. the motor has pull-cord start. (Like a chainsaw).

It got sold while I was considering it. You snooze, you lose.
Well there's a '74 XL 175 in Craig's for a better price.
Something always comes up, provided you wait long enough.
