What bike(s) are better for riding pillion? What are some of the features
that make the ride more comfortable and feel secure. (no big trips, max 100
miles a day) I think a top case with back rest would be a big plus.
The F4i is not really pillion friendly. Perhaps if I can find a top case to
fit?
Sorry, I can't afford an FJR, ST or BMW.... And a no cruisers please.

If I didn't already have the FJR for that purpose, I think I'd probably buy
a DL-1000 Suzuki V-Strom. I have about 6 friends who own them, or the
smaller 650, and they're thrilled with them. The back seat on a DL-1000
would be worlds better than the back of a sportbike.

Or if money is really tight, an FJ1200.

Hrmph.....
Anyone wanting to ride with me will have to have their own bike or
sprout wings.
No one is riding on my V-strom but me.

My wife like the pillion seat on my Concours. (a bit more than half the
price of the ST, FJR, or BMW) I have the optional Kawasaki backrest on
it - nice, but I sit a little farther back on the bike, and with my wife
on there, it's a little squished. (But she and I are a bit oversized)
I'll be replacing it with a trunk that should mount further back,
alleviating this problem.
She hasn't ridden the Supersport yet. That has a trunk on it, so might
be a bit better.
Generally, most bikes (a few tourers like the Wing, etc are exceptions)
don't really give much comfort to the pillion. They put the second
seating area there kind of as an afterthought. A GOOD seat and backrest
usually make the most improvement for your passenger. (Corbin
