Golf carts serve that very purpose in many small communities already.

Duh - Oh ...transporting people and groceries several miles over 50mph roads
maybe.

Obviously they are so slow that they are dangerous.

No. If you are impeding traffic you are literally stealing minutes out of
other peoples' lives - people who, if angry enough, might rightly take some
of yours.

That is because motorcycles seldom, if ever, steal portions of other
peoples' lives.

| Walkers and cyclists are an endangered species in American sprawl. The
| reason is first that they are afraid. Secondly the distances are made
| for the automobile, which makes walking terribly grinding, often no
| sidewalks are provided. Pedestrians are often afraid of crime as well,
| so they stay in the cage. The bicycle could take advantage of long
| distances but there are no bike facilities and no respect.
Gee, I'm sorry that you are so paranoid. Why would one be afraid to walk
any reasonable distance? Bicycles have a place. Hereabouts, people ride
them from home, via slow neighborhood streets, to the bus stop, where they
chain them to a post and ride the bus. Except for the good riders like Rob,
they should be banned from any street where the speed limit is over 25mph.
If I was slowly strangling you, taking your life a few minutes at a time,
would you "respect" me??
| I'm inclined to describe our roads as Darwinist ....
Yes, the unfit (on bicycles) get weeded out ....

Must be gated communities because they are not safe in open
communities.

We got supermarkets all over the place here, not even 5 miles apart
from each other. You must live in the boondocks.

Or you are so dangerous as to terrorize communities. In Europe they
are taming traffic as low as 20mph.

Live and let live. You still got other lanes to pass. Be happy with
having the lion's share not the monopoly over the road.

Lucky you. Scooters under 50cc do slow down traffic. What you want to
do about them?

Bicycles have a place around here... on sidewalks where they are a
threat to elderly people and children. You call them "collateral
damage"?

Actually the fit on bikes get weeded out by the unfit in cars. This is
not pure Darwinism, just capitalism.
