Is it possible, however unlike this may seem, that some
people care more about the looks of their motorcycle
than they do about its performance, handling, rideability
and comfort ?
Seems wildly impossible of course, but if true, perhaps
this might explain why people create a lot of the funny
looking motorcycles one can find pictures of on the internet.
That and the well known fact that all motorcyclists are
slightly brain damaged from one too many collisions
wearing inadequate helmets.

Yes indeed, as witness the popularity of custom "choppers". There are many
mentally ill folks in the world <g> (ie, any who fail to do things my way).

Mr. Derp picks up claw hammer and wonders, "Will this hurt if I hit
myself in the head?"

Anything'a possible, of course, but re the above sort of thing, I guess I'll
just never get it. Sacrificing performance/handling/rideability/comfort
just to get "looks" - i.e., making how others see you your top priority
- just
doesn't seem like the action of a mature individual. More like putting
a card in the spokes of your bike when you were a kid; it's a pure "hey,
look at ME!" cry for attention over all else.
