Another one then. A Dnepr/VW diesel conversion:

So the problem with the BMW transmission and swingarm is that
the transmission output shaft is too far to the right to drop the
transmission and driveshaft into the Dnepr frame ?

At that point I decided that in winter I'd rather be in
a warm 4WD cage than a cold 2WD hack rig (a decision heartily
applauded by the g/f).
So there *are* sane beings in your trailer, the GF and your parrots.

You have *no idea* what you're doing.

Have you ever thought of buying your GF a whip and a mask and some
thigh high boots with spike heels?

Unless the BMW driveshaft/swingarm assembly is too wide, the
obvious (I think) solution would be to transplant a motor,
transmission,
swingarm, driveshaft, final drive and rear wheel, then cobble up a
new shock mount.
I really doubt that you'll get far with the chain drive idea.
Apparently, one way to adapt a Ural/Dnepr transmission to
a boxer engine is with a simple adapter plate. Not sure if
any mods are needed to the transmission shafts.
