I've read a little more on Clark's appearance since this thread
started and one of the points he made was that McCain was a commander
of a flight training school not an active military unit during war
time. Again, there is nothing there that was non-factual coupled with
an opinion that such duty don't prepare one to be a military
executive.
Whether or not one agrees with his assesment is moot, but complaining
that it was dastardly and unpatriotic treatment of McCain is
laughable. Considering the way the right wing themselves attacked
McCain's wife for drug abuse or put forth the idea that McCain himself
sired a black baby in his last run against GWB, I'm afraid there is
nothing a Democratic opponent could do to top that line of
dispargement against a "national hero."
