There was a time when I would have vehemently denounced the notion of deadly
force to protect proprty, it still makes me uneasy. However I am faced with
the reality that allowing these crimes to go unpunish, or with minor or
small punishments appears to make them more acceptable and their numbers are
growing. Furthermore the pepetrators of these crimes seem willing to
escalate their actions with experience. In short we appear to be training
our youth to be thugs and theives. Far better to teach them that the only
way to succeed is through valuable work and wages and that if you decide to
steal and harm other people you will not enjoy the results and nobody will
defend you.
